ConocoPhillips and the Rice Office of STEM Engagement offer a unique and innovative professional development opportunity for Greater Houston Area:
AMP! is designed to have Science & Mathematics teachers attend as a team representing their school. The program uses inquiry-based teaching strategies to provide innovative & unique professional development. Teachers learn how to integrate their partner's subject area into their own instruction in order to develop an authentic STEM environment on campus.
AMP! can include hands-on and laboratory activities, guided discussions, and guest lectures.

Participants are required to attend the remote five-day Summer Institute.
Remote Summer Institute
July 6-10, 2020
The summer institute will now take place remotely. This will result in some changes to program structure, including reduced contact time during the summer institute.
AMP! includes 4 all-day Saturday and 4 Wednesday evening classes during the 2020-2021 academic year. A tentative list of dates for each program will be available soon.
Wednesday evenings classes are from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Saturday classes are from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Applicants will be notified of their status by May 15, 2020; priority will be given to teacher-pairs from the same campus. Space is very limited and subject to funding availability, therefore, completing the application process does NOT guarantee placement in the program.
Previous AMP! participants will be placed on a wait list. Once the 6th Grade, 7th Grade, 8th Grade, and Algebra I/Biology programs reach capacity, all future applicants will be placed on a wait list.
Applicants will be required to submit a signed Principal and Participant Agreement Letter (PPAL) with their application (6th Grade | 7th Grade | 8th Grade | Algebra I/Biology). By signing the form, the applicant's principal agrees to let the applicants participate during the 2020 Summer Institute and during the 2020-2021 school year. By completing the application, the applicants agree to participate during the 2020 Summer Institute and during the 2020-2021 school year. Both teachers in a teacher-pair need to submit an individual application. Teacher-pairs from different campuses will need to submit separate PPALs.
