Do you love science and math? Are you nervous about taking physics next semester? Design Connect Create Physics Camps for Young Women are immersive, hands-on experiences for students to explore and have fun with physics! Students form a deep understanding and build confidence to move forward in science knowing they will be successful. Labs, guest speakers, interactive problem solving, and engineering challenges fill our days as we explore classic and modern topics in physics.
In collaboration with Design Connect Create, the Rice Office of STEM Engagement offers a free, two-week day camp for current (2019-2020) 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grade girls. Students must plan to take their first physics course in the fall of 2020 and be registered at a Houston ISD school. A few spots may be given to girls registered at other Greater Houston Area districts and schools.
Donations and grants from individuals, corporations, and family foundations make it possible for us to offer participation in this camp, a $650 value, at NO-COST to the student!
Lunch & snacks will be provided, but please pack a refillable water bottle.
