HOUSTON, TX, April 23, 2020 — The Rice University Office of STEM Engagement (R-STEM) announces the cancellation of the following programs scheduled to take place this summer. While we had hoped to hold our programs this summer as usual, we understand that this is no longer an option as we do our part to ensure the safety of our participants and abide by the policies set in place by the university.

These cancellations were made in accordance with Rice University Policy. On Friday, April 17, 2020, Rice University announced the cancellation of all events and activities on campus—including summer camps and off-campus Rice sponsored events—through July 1, 2020. R-STEM is actively working to move the year-long teacher professional development programs to remote instructions for the summer portion. We are also exploring virtual summer camp options for K-12 students. Updates will be made available once more information is ready.
